Gentamicin solution 4% is an antimicrobial product in injection solution or oral solution form containing 40 mg of gentamicin sulphate per 1 ml as the active ingredient and accessory ingredients. Gentamicin oral solution is a transparent colourless liquid.

| Pharmacological properties: |
Gentamicin possesses a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, among which Escherichia, Salmonella, Staphylococcus etc. It is rapidly imbibed upon intramuscular injection, achieving the therapeutic concentration that is maintained for 8 to 12 hours. The product is eliminated with urine. Gentamicin has a low toxicity in mammals. |

Gentamicin is administered to agricultural animals and birds with respiratory or gastrointestinal disorders, meningitis, peritonitis, pielonephritis and other diseases caused by agents sensitive to gentamicin.
Gentamicin solution 4% is administered intramuscularly or perorally twice per day at 10-to 12-hour intervals at the following doses:

The withdrawal period is 21 days. Milk from the animals treated with gentamicin can be used for food no earlier than 72 hours after the last treatment.
