Test system for detection of porcine parvovirus using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)

Test system for detection of porcine parvovirus using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)

Description:

The test system is designed for detection of porcine parvovirus using polymerase chain reaction in blood samples, tissues from sick animals, sperm, aborted foetuses and infected cell cultures.

The kit contains sufficient reagents to perform 50 tests.

The assay consists of the isolation of the total DNA, PCR amplification of a specific DNA fragment and agarose gel electrophoresis.

Principle of the action:

Porcine parvovirus is detected using PCR. The specific DNA fragment is amplified millions of times, which allows visualization of the results using electrophoresis in agarose gel.

Among the advantages of the test system is the ability to detect the virus in aborted foetuses. The test system allows to distinguish between porcine parvovirus and other abortion-causing viruses.

Storage:

Kit 2 is stored at a temperature between −18 and −20°C, kits 1 and 3 are stored at a temperature between 2 and 6°C.

Shelf life:

12 months.
