Novomec is a product in injection solution form containing 10 mg of ivermectin per 1 ml as the active ingredient and accessory ingredients. Novomec is a transparent colourless or yellowish liquid. |
| Pharmacological properties: |
Ivermectin, the active ingredient of Novomec, exerts both systemic and contact action on lice, louse flies, botfly maggots, and agents of sarcoptoidosis, wolfaritosis and helmintosis caused by nematodes. Ivermectin stimulates secretion of gamma-aminobutyric acid by the parasite’s nerve terminations and enhances its binding to the nerve cell receptors, thus causing paralysis and death of the parasite. Novomec has a low toxicity in mammals and is safe at the therapeutic doses. |
| Dosage and use: |
- Cattle, sheep, goats, camels, horses: percutaneously 200 mcg per kg of weight (1 ml per 50 kg of weight).
- Pigs: 200 mcg per kg of weight against nematodosis, 300 mcg per kg of weight against sarcoptosis.
- Reindeer: intramuscularly or subcutaneously 200 mcg per kg of weight or 0.5 ml or animal against edemagenosis.
Novomec must not be used in in-milk or weak animals, or in pregnant animals less than 30 days before birth.
The withdrawal period is 30 days.

5 years if stored properly (if stored in original packing at temperatures no higher than 30°С).
