The vaccine is used in leptospirosis-affected farm units, in animals pastured at a natural focus of leptospirosis or upon detection of animals seropositive for leptospirosis by microhaemagglutination test.
All clinically healthy animals should be subject to vaccination.
The vaccine produces active Immunity to leptospirosis, which develops 2 to 3 weeks after immunization and lasts 6 to 8 months in young animals and 12 to 15 months in adult animals.
Vaccination prevents clinical appearances of leptospirosis such as abortion, leptospira-carrying and formation of intensive foci of leptospirosis.
Vials/ampoules must be shaken before use to maintain the homogeneity of the suspension and avoid precipitation of the vaccine's components.
Horses are vaccinated at the age of 1,5 months and upwards. The vaccine is administered singly via intramuscular route at the following doses:
Animals aged below 12 months: 1,0 cm3;
Adult animals: 2,0 cm3.
