Inactivated vaccine against Teschen disease

Description:

Vaccine against Teschen disease (enzootic encephalomyelitis) in Swine is prepared from inactivated cultural virus and contains oily adjuvant.

Indications for use:

The vaccine is used for prophylactic immunization of Swine in farm units affected or threatened by Teschen disease as part of general antiepizootic measures, in accordance with the current guidelines regarding measures against porcine enzootic encephalomyelitis.

Vaccination method:

Clinically healthy Swine of all ages should be subject to vaccination. Sows are vaccinated at least 3 weeks before farrowing, piglets from vaccinated sows are vaccinated at the age of 3 to 4 weeks.

The vaccine is administered singly via intramuscular route at the following doses:
  • piglets aged less than 60 days: 1 cm3;
  • swine older than 60 days: 2 cm3.

Piglets vaccinated at the age below 2 months are revaccinated after 3 months at the dose of 1 cm3 and every 10 months from then on.

Swine are revaccinated singly at the dose of 2 cm3 10 months after vaccination.

Immunity:

Immunity develops 2 weeks after vaccination and lasts at least 10 months.

Formulation:

The vaccine is available in 10 cm3 vials (5 doses).

Shelf life:

12 months if kept in a dark dry place at a temperature between 2 and 8°С.
